Holiday SALES on our Favorite Gear!

There are so many things we love this time of year, and one of them is pulling out our favorite late fall/winter adventure gear! From cozy puffy jackets to compact blankets to use at the fire, we’ve put so many pieces to the test.

The holidays are also a great time to score some awesome deals and make gear a bit more affordable (trust me, we’re not under any illusion that quality outdoor gear is cheap…).

So if you’re in the market for some new items, or looking for gift ideas for your fellow adventurer, we wanted to share some deals on our favorites!

Gear

Kahtoola MICROspikes

We’ve used Kahtoola MICROspikes for years on our winter hikes. They dig in so well and provide great traction for snowy and icy trails.

Rumpl NanoLoft Puffy Travel Blanket

Packing up to the size of your typical Nalgene, these travel blankets are super warm for their size. For campfires or airplanes, we love our NanoLoft Blankets.

Black Diamond Storm 500 Rechargeable Headlamp

Once we switched to rechargeable headlamps, we never went back! This model is so bright and works awesome for hiking, trail running, and cooking dinner in the dark.

MSR Windburner Stove System

This is the one and only stove we use for backpacking and making hot meals/drinks in the winter. It’s meant to combat the wind and works awesome in all conditions!

Kahtoola LEVAGaiter Mid GTX

These mini gaiters are great for shoulder seasons or trails with some snow. They’re awesome at blocking some wind from your feet and keeping snow out of your shoes.

Amazfit T-Rex Ultra Smart Watch

We both have the same watch and LOVE them for hikes, bikes, runs, paddles, and more. They even have a “frisbee” sport mode, which, if you know us at all, you know we love playing on an ultimate frisbee league every summer!

BigBlue 3 USB Ports 28W Solar Panel

We brought this along for our trek in Nepal (as well as a battery pack) and it worked great for keeping all of our devices (phones and camera) charged!

Clothing

Classic Smartwool Merino Wool 1/4 Zip Base Layer

We both wear these Smartwool baselayers on every fall and winter hike. They’re moisture-wicking and so warm!

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Alpine Hooded Jacket

These are the warmest jackets we’ve ever owned. We bought them for our trip to Nepal but learned just how handy they are on winter hikes in our home state (the White Mountains of New Hampshire). On days where the temps dropped to below zero, we could throw these on as soon as we took a break to stay toasty warm.

Black Diamond Mercury Mittens

Our favorite winter hiking mittens that we’ve worn in below-zero temps.

Oboz Katabatic Winds Trail Runners

We fell absolutely in love with Oboz trail runners. We used to be Salomon die-hards, but these wider toe boxes and extra padding made a HUGE difference on our long day hikes.

REI Trailsmith Jogger Pants

These pants are comfy year-round and are as rugged as you’ll find! I love them for hanging out at camp, doing small hikes, doing projects, and paddling.
